Who cares about movies. Audiobooks take up a lot of space. I use text-to-mp3 to produce audiobooks on my desktop. I have 14 videos of Android tutorials on my Nexus 7 now. What about Kahn Academy? Being able to swap SD cards anywhere means not having to erase and reload at my desktop.

A large, portable, light library means not being dependent on wireless or wi-fi at all.

u can not put your audio books on the cloud? u don't need to have hundred of books... just the one you read.

the next nexus will have maybe 64g.

Believe it or not we don't all think having everything "in the cloud" is a good idea.

The cloud is fine, but the fact remains WiFi access is still not as ubiquitous as we'd all like to believe. Hard storage is still advantageous.

all pic can be kept on box or dropbox. i got 50 gig with box.
music doesn't take a lot.

with a 32, u can get 10 movies high Def. at 3 gig each. sd card is old technology...
Silly statement. Apparently you consider "the cloud" to be new technology so SD cards are old tech.

Not true.

It's odd that you're saying that SD is old technology; yet you're suggesting an even older technology to replace it.

Does it accept an SD card?

If you want to pay for 3G that is your business. If you want to be dependent on free wi-fi locations, that is your business too.

What could we do with 128 gig of standard common knowledge. Are schools obsolete for people with IQs over 120?

I will definitely be buying the new Nexus 7. It's perfect for exploring the internet, Tweeting, checking sports scores, reading an occasional book or magazine, etc., while on the couch. No movies or gaming for me so this is the one. FWIW, I think Google would sell more of these if they'd make provisions for an SD card. This is the #1 complaint that I read in gadget blogs like CNET under the reviews. So many people were hoping for an SD slot for the 2nd version but it will not happen. Still, for the price, this is a great device. Just make sure you have some sort of hacking protection.

-Cheers!
