I'm not sure the average US child is going to be impressed by the OLPC products if they've spent any time with an Android or iOS tablet. They're designed to be simplistic and intuitive, since their target market is users in developing countries who are unfamiliar with any tech devices. Thus, no one need fear the education motives of WalMart. All WM wants to do is sell products to consumers, in high volume at a profit.

Since the proceeds from OLPC sales subsidize OLPC freebies in developing countries, even the most ardent anti-WM crusader can feel good about buying this item from there.
