Yes, but why would you get a hard drive in a laptop?

For someone that says that? Android, iPad or Windows tablet will work just fine.

Do you like to tinker and customize? If yes, get an Android.
If not look at the Windows tablets, or the iPads. They are not nearly as customizable (the look and feel is what I am talking about here) but still perfectly capable.

As for printing, there are so many ways to accomplish that nowadays, it's pretty simple. Yes, it helps to have a more modern printer, particularly a Wifi one. I print stuff from my phone ALL the time using an app called: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...e.printershare

Totally painless and perfect results. I can print to my home PC when I am at home and I can print to any printer at my office (job) from anywhere.
Whether one would need a laptop or tablet is not a question of quantitative analysis. It does not matter how many apps one needs. It matters which apps and how one uses those apps. I don't use 99.9% of PC applications either. But I need a PC.

The majority of laptops come with hard drives. SSDs cost more for less storage.

Tablets are more prone to breaking since people carry them around all the time and walk and type and trip and drop there tablet since a Laptop you tend to sit down and use a table and add in the fact that 500GB of HDD or a 480GB SSD with a full size USB port for flash drives plugging in Cameras or charging I-Pods Laptops and PC have their uses.

I say get a tablet and a PC since right now a decent Quad core PC is pretty cheap right now based on bang for the buck performance.

Also a 10" Tablet is massive and a I-Pad Mini, Samsung Galaxy note III 8.1 or the new Nexus 7 are perfect for me needs but I would wait a while and go with a touch screen Laptop but that is just my opinion.
