I own an iPad because of the App store. Android doesn't compare. And windows tablets are just not there yet.

Of course the Android doesn't compare to an iPad. An Android store has thousands of more apps.

i am not a tablet guy...id take a regular laptop anyday

i am also not an apple guy...however i will cosign an ipod/ipod

if you must get a tablet, get an ipad...its the only tablet that actually functions like a computer

the rest are basically large paperweights w/ phone apps...id just rather use my phone

outside of an ipad the only other tablet i'd consider would be like a win7 tablet

nothing againsts android...i love it for phones (i dont mess with iphones) but not if i want something that works like a computer

I like my iPad. I'm not a technology freak, so I'm not looking to do anything fancy. I just like having a small computer that fits comfortably in my purse. I have a laptop for work, and I work from home. I bought a small keyboard for my iPad and got Pages (I think it's the only app I've paid for).

-The iPad can replace the work laptop when I'm just visiting a local firm, which is very convenient. At a recent conference, it allowed me to easily monitor what was going on with my company while I was attending sessions and networking, without the burden of carrying around my laptop (which, because of the nature of my work, is one of the larger models).

-It also replaced my kindle - I haven't used that once in the 8 months since I got the iPad.

-I watch episodes of my favorite tv shows and movies via netflix and hulu. Sometimes I have trouble getting these to screen smoothly on my laptop.

-I take it with me everywhere. I'm a writer, and writing by hand is a pain in the butt. The iPad is like always having a little notebook with me - I love it.

My buddy said an iPad is designed for consumption, not creation, but I have to say that I use it to write pretty regularly to write and as a substitute for my laptop when I'm not going to be working on complicated projects. Maybe PC tablets are better, but I'm delighted with the iPad. Again, like I said, my needs are pretty simple.

Not a computer guy, either, are you?

An ipad is a large iPhone that doesn't make phone calls...

It may have changed in the past 2 years, but I last used a Droid 2 years ago and just wasn't impressed. The iPhone is just easier to use, and is easier to find apps.

Actually, it does compare. There are more than a million Android apps. A few years ago, you would have been correct but not today.

Yes, it has changed in the past two years. I've used both the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S3. I prefer the Android Galaxy.

But the iPad does NOT work like a computer. There are huge functionality holes and way too many areas that you have to work around.
