Here is the same thing at Amazon for $139.95 with free shipping ... and it's IN STOCK (at least right now):

Amazon.com : ASUS Nexus 7-Inch 32 GB Tablet (NEXUS7 ASUS-1B32-4G) 2012 Model : Tablet Computers : Computers & Accessories

And other sellers on Amazon have it as well:

Amazon.com: Buying Choices: ASUS Nexus 7-Inch 32 GB Tablet (NEXUS7 ASUS-1B32-4G) 2012 Model
It is the 2012 model... and is a bad value compared to the 2013 model which sells for just a little more.

Actually this 2012 model is a very good value since it's the 4G model, so it can communicate over a cellular phone network, in addition to WiFi.

The newer 2013 model with cellular access is much more expensive, at around $415:

Amazon.com : Nexus 7 from Google LTE Version (7-Inch, 32 GB, Black, LTE) by ASUS (2013) Tablet : Tablet Computers : Computers & Accessories

$415 is what you'd probably pay for it with your shopping style.

However, I'd take the more sensible approach of just paying $269.90 (Yes, I know that Staples has a 10% OFF coupon this week and it would really be cheaper... but I'm going by just the listed price).

$270 (even with a 10% off coupon) is not "just a little more" than $139.

Who knows ... maybe your concept of spending another 75% is different than the rest of us?

It may be time for a refresher course in basic mathematics.

Perhaps you forgot the context of this thread. The OP is asking for the best reasonably priced tablet. In terms of value, the 2013 model for $100 is a better value. It's much better and still cheap. Yes, a $100 is a little more for what you get... especially in comparison to aggregate LTE fees.

The OP just said he needed it to play videos and access the internet, and wanted it at a reasonable price.

The Nexus 7 (2012) is fine for this purpose, especially if he is getting it for only $139.

I have owned the Nexus 7 (2012) for around a year, and it has been a very good tablet.

It's not as good as the 2013 model, but it is also a lot less expensive. You get what you pay for.

Remember .. the OP stated "reasonably" priced.

The OP also mentioned just a few posts later that he was looking at Walgreens for tablets, so I seriously doubt he was looking in the $250 price range.

Right now ... $139 for the Nexus 7 2012 model (built by ASUS) with 32GB, 4G cellular access, and WiFi (b/g/n) is a great deal!

Agree 100%. I have that tablet too, and it is excellent.

You're right. He certainly did. IN OCTOBER OF 2013!

Time to let this thread die, people. At the very least we can stop replying to the OP.
We have a thread here somewhere for "Tablet Deals".
We should maybe sticky that one...

Partially my fault, the thread you mentioned was where I wanted to place my post, but my brain put it here
