I have no idea what happened with my iPad (4th gen). Out of the blue, some of my 100+ apps have no sound, yet others still do. It's the weirdest thing I've ever seen. I haven't contacted Apple yet. I was hoping someone here would know first.

The apps are various games, like Cut the Rope, kids' stories in which the words can't be read aloud anymore, etc.

Can anyone tell me what to do?

Hard restart.

Hold down on/off button and home button for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo appear.

If that doesn't work. Restore from backup (iCloud or iTunes).

The hard restart didn't work. I found out I had to go to Settings > General > make sure the Mute option wasn't chosen & the sound worked again. Thanks though!

When everything fails, look at the settings.

That's the way it goes sometimes.
