Ok, so I'm going into my second year of college and I currently have a tablet that has access to google drive, polaris office, etc. However, I do not have a keyboard attached to it, I was wondering if it would be a good idea to get a chromebook in addition to it, I know its not advisable to only go into school with a tablet however, last semester I went to and fromthe library for a computer rental. Other than typing, what should I have access to? I am debating whether or not to get one, I have been using google drive exclusively and I am an education major so I do not know if a tablet will be sufficient.
If you're invested in the Google ecosystem, and your mention of using Google Drive "exclusively" indicates that you are, a Chromebook will be useful to you.
Totally agree. At first I was going to recommend a tablet with a keyboard, but a Chrome Book would actually be cheaper. And you have a tablet.... so yea: Chromebook.
It also depends on your major. Software options are very limited on Chromebooks. If you're in a finance class and have to use Excel, you're going to have a problem.

Chrome has a program called Google Sheets which is similar.
What is wrong with a USB or bluetooth keyboard for the tablet?
I have not been able to find a comfortable size Bluetooth keyboard that is compatible for a good price and the right size I want. My tablet does not have usb
I have both a Nexus 7 tablet and a chromebook. I use the chromebook almost all the time (like now). I got the Acer C720P chromebook with the touchscreen so it is very much like a tablet, but with a good keyboard.
This chromebook is much easier to carry around than my Windows laptop is.
