Both are 10.1 inch, 16 mb with slot for sdcard (I think). Keep it simple for me, please. I'm not THAT techy.

is it me or does Samsung flood the market every year? Asus, LG and others all seem to have 1 or 2 tablet and phone releases a year,

Samsung every other week it seems, maybe I'm imagining it, but it sure feels that way

Samsung fights with Apple to be the top dog. The others follow along for the scraps.

Pruzhany has posted a great resource, but the main difference is that the Note versions have a stylus, and are optimized for writing / drawing on the screen with said stylus.

Another difference between the two that you linked to is the age and version of Android.

The Tab 4 you linked to is the current generation of that device, but the Note 10 is the older version (the current is the Note 10 2014 edition: Amazon.com : Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition (16GB, White) : Tablet Computers : Computers & Accessories )

IMO one of the best things to do is to go somewhere like Best Buy where you can actually play with them to get a feel for the feature set and differences.

Right? There's a reason Samsung is the current largest provider of tablets and phones. They make something for everyone.

This is not ANOTHER discussion of Samsung vs Apple. I'm not interested in Apple. Sometimes I wish there was a way to minus rep on this board.

Thank you, Skunk, for the helpful reply, and Pruzany for the link.

Because Samsung floods the market with more than a half dozen variants. But if one matches flagship to flagship then Samsung loses to Apple.

I have a Tab and a iPad. Both serve their purposes adequately.

I didn't bring it up. Nor will I.

I would suggest buying the newer tablet. Unlike many phones, tablets don't become outdated every 18 months. So you will have it and use it a long time. For this reason, I almost always recommend buying the best (specs wise) tablet you can afford.

The Tab is the one for the budget market. The Note is the higher spec one.

As it is, I have a Tab 2 and an iPad 4. Both of them, I love, but the iPad has better hardware and a better camera.
