I did the downgrade back to 7.1.2 on my iPad 2. It's back to it's usual speedy self. I'm waiting for others with the iPad 2 to give their experience with 8.02 or later before re-upgrading.

I'm currently in the Middle East using a Hotspot (through cellular) on an iPad 2 and have seen no lag.

No weird behavior on my iPad 3 as of 8.0.2. much less prone to crashing than 7.

I already did it and wish I wouldn't have. More freezing and crashing.
