I read about an app that changes a Android tablet's display to a mirror image, supposedly so the tablet could be placed on the dashboard in front of the steering wheel where it would shine up, be reflected back to the driver re-reversed and appear as a HUD (Heads Up Display).
If anyone has tried this, please discuss.
Was it bright enough in the day? Too bright at night? (did auto-brightness in the tablet help or hurt?)
What displays did you find helpful? The app could read GPS and give a compass, and GPS speed, but I'd like to perhaps us it for a large Waze Nav display.
Even better, display via Bluetooth or WiFi from a OBD II dongle plugged into my car.
Could you name the app? This doesn't sound even remotely possible to me as the normal windshield glass will not reflect a readable display back to you.
Stand by what I said. On normal windshield glass, it will look like hell. As even the review El posted said.
A proper HUD display uses a different type of windshield glass. Or coating.
Looks like there is a gen 2 of this product... that includes something to project on.

If you do use this product, please do not use it with the display in your straight forward field of vision.
The Advert claims: "Assists without distracting" which is not true.
If used right in front, it does distract you, so use at a slightly offset location.
My phone (used as a GPS) is located in the lower left corner of the windshield.
The female voice and my peripheral vision are all I need to follow instructions.
After a while, it becomes the same as knowing how fast you are going without looking straight at the speedometer.
You look at at it inside your peripheral vision.
I know this El. Cars that have HUDs have special glass or a glass coating. A car not designed with a HUD in mind will not reflect an image like this properly.
