My friend has an older Ipad and she changed the password and then forgot it. She is an older person.
I've read you have to attach the Ipad to an Apple computer and then use Itunes to restore it.
Of course it would go back to the default settings and wouldn't have her data.
If you can't, would they do it in an Apple store? Would they charge?
Does it take long to do it?
I think the plug on the Ipad is lightning. A Windows PC is going to have something else.
Yes it is a lightning cable, but the other end is USB so it can be connected to a pc.
Itunes isn’t part of the OS... it’s an app. If you don’t have iTunes you can download it.
Once installed and your iPad is connected it will ask for your her user name and password.
If she knows her user name she can put it in. When they ask for the password she can click on “forgot password” and they will send a code to change the old password to a new one.
There’s a ton of videos on YouTube that will walk you through changing your “forgotten” password or user name.
If she doesn’t have an iTunes account she can make one for free.....

Do you mean she forgot the lock code to allow access to the iPad screen, or do you mean she forgot her iCloud account password?
