My wife has a Samsung Galaxy tablet and has done something to screw up the screen or picture settings. The screen is basically showing one image or site on the top half of the screen and a different image or site on the bottom half of the screen. She wants it to show just one image on the entire screen.

I suppose that something has been screwed up in the settings, but I don't know what it is. Could someone offer some advice on how to correct this? Thank you.

You would probably get more helpful suggestions if you posted the specific model tablet, and what Android version you're using.

As a generic guess, I suspect you've triggered the "split screen multi-window mode". Where you can have two different apps running and being actively displayed at the same time.

Try this: (pulled from a Google Search, close Samsung split-screen mode""To exit the split screen view, tap Recents or Home, in the navigation bar, and then tap X (at the top of the screen) to close. Not all apps support split screen view. Consequently, only apps supporting this feature will offer it. Pop-up view is another neat way to satisfy your multi-tasking desires."

It's a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7. It's only a few months old. I think that something is defective with the tablet. There are often squiggly lines running horizontally through the picture/image. Sometimes it will show just one screen and then other times it will show two screens, not necessarily equal in size, with one above the other.

I do not see any "X" anywhere on any of the screens. I have gone to Settings menu and don't see anywhere that it gives an option of split screen or single screen. My wife doesn't want split screen. She just wants to get on Facebook about 99% of the time and scroll through the postings, but the split screen plus the wiggly lines through the screen, plus there is often one screen superimposed on top of another (like an old fashioned double exposure on film camera).

I think we just need to send the tablet back. We bought it from Amazon, but I suppose that the Samsung company would have to take care of any warranty work. Right?

Again, thanks for any help.

Google +"Samsung Galaxy Tab A7" +"split screen"
yields:
https://www.hardreset.info/devices/s...en-in-samsung/
which shows how to split the screen, and then un-split them.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2019 edition) and this works for mine. (When in landscape mode, the "+" to close one window was at the side, not the top).
