Housing near Gadsden County Schools
I am looking to take a job with Gadsden County Schools but have never been to the area. I know I would be working a lot in Midway. I was hoping someone could tell me about the area (shopping, culture, crime). I would also like to know of some great places to live. I don't have to live in the county itself. I wouldn't want to drive more than 20 mins to get to work. I am looking for a nice but SAFE apartment. I am 23 years old so I am looking for a place where I could meet new people. I am coming from Michigan so I really need help. All advice is appreciated. THANK YOU!

I'll call it like I see it -- there are a few areas of Gadsden County that are decent, but overall it has a lot of poverty and is not a desirable place to live if you're seeking shopping, culture, and looking to avoid crime as you stated. I guess you could find an apartment in NW Tallahassee to keep the drive within 20 minutes, but I'm not too familiar with that area (and can't comment on the crime aspect). I know there is a lot of residential housing in NW TLH ... but there are also some sketchy areas on the west side of town. Also, the further in towards the city on the west side of TLH, the closer you get to college student rentals (which may not be what you're looking for).

My advice would be to live in Tallahassee and commute.
Gadsden County government, especially in its housing aspect, is corrupt.

For a 23 year old wanting to meet people I have to agree Midway is not the choice. Tallahassee much better.
