Does anyone have experience with cable, internet, or phone companies in the Tallahassee area? I'm relocating soon and would like to know who to stay away from and who is great.

Thanks!

Yes for cable you basically have one choice, Comcast, Though you could get Satellite... Directv

Phone, just use your cell phone Comcast offers VOIP

Internet Comcast and Embarq are the major players, embarq offers DSL while Comcast offers cable.

If you need all 3. Comcast triple play, or triple package, or something like that would probably be your best best. They do all three for about a hundred a month. You can also order any of those, just tv, internet, or phone from comcast without ordering the triple play package.

If you're looking for alternatives to Comcast, there's dish network and DirecTV for satellite instead of cable. I'm thinking embarq and even at&t in a few sections of the city have dsl and landline phone service. I personally have, and would recommend, Comcast for tv and internet, and I also just use the cell phone from alltel as my only phone line. More people seem to be moving in that direction. Alltel has very good service around here, and unlimited calling to My Circle numbers so it's a good fit if you don't have a landline because you don't have to worry about minutes, and still have a reasonable cell bill even if you completely drop the landline bill.

Utilities in Tallahassee are the highest in the state because of all the services charges, fuel adjustments, taxes on the taxes, not because of cost per KW. Expect to pay $200 per month average for 1200 sq ft. Grad students: the closest, safest place to live near F.S.U. is in the Mission San Luis area and just north of there.

Comcast triple play is $120+/month for the first year. They don't tell you what it will go up to.

Many people (including us) have to pay well over $400/month for electricity. We are in 1,300 sq ft...total rip off.
