You can't wakeboard or jet ski, but you can do other water sports at the Rez (Lake Bradford)Florida State University Reservation

What about Lake Jackson? Not sure if it is the lake that dried up a few years ago????

My son is at FSU. He is not into water sports, but maybe you can look around facebook or myspace for more info on groups.

Have fun!

Pull out a USGS map of the area. There are lakes all over the place.

Lake Talquin is like 20 minutes away and is a very large lake that you could do these things on.

Lake Talquin is west of Tallahassee near Qunicy.

Tal -Quin.

Talquin. Get it?

Lake Seminole is HUGE and is a bit farther west.

Rivers abound as well: the Wakulla, the Ochlocknee, St. Marks, the beautiful Suwanee River (for which the song was written), is about an hour to the east. There are also numerous natural springs that are the most beautiful places in Florida -- that tourists know nothing about. Some are around Tallahassee (like Wakulla), but most of the really neat ones are in the area between Tallahassee and Gainesville.

Yes Lake Jackson is still dry, it had a sink hole in it, the lake is starting to fill up some but looks to me like it may take awhile unless there is alot of rain. It has so many lilley pads and weeds in it but people with very small boats do still fish in it.

I don't know if anyone still watches this but I'm on the FSU wakeboard Club and Team. We have a 21' Malibu wakesetter at the Rez that you can ski or wakeboard on. Also Lake Jackson is amazing lake that you can wakeboard on. My friend has a 19' mastercraft that he teaches people on it. If you have more questions email me at csn09@fsu.edu.
