I've been doing some searching on google trying to find some local childbirth classes but not having much luck. Most of the prenatal/childbirth classes in the area are at hospitals, and thusly are limited to only the people birthing AT that hospital. I will be having a birth at a birth center in the area, but they dont quite cover all the topics I would like (IE: newborn care or lamaze). Has anyone taken any classes not in a hospital that maybe I am unable to find via google?

How about Bradley classes?
Tampa Bay Bradley Method

If that's too far to drive, the teacher would know where else you could find classes in the area.

Another option would be contacting a local home birth midwife and seeing if they offer childbirth classes. A mw I used for a couple of my births used to teach classes that were also open to people who did not birth with her.

ETA: Here's a link that can help find direct entry midwives that might have classes.

Many bradley teachers are willing to work with you on price, especially new ones (like me =) ), And-if you have to miss a few- most teachers are willing to work with you to help you "make up" your missed information.
Here is some information.
