Who has the best service and most competitive rates in Tampa?

I am moving there and hoping to get an iPhone.

I would avoid SPRINT at all costs!!! They have so many dead spots in Tampa. When we moved last year, we had NO service inside our home. We live in the middle of retail mecca off dale Mabry...even the Sprint customer svc. ppl couldn't believe it.

Have an iphone with AT&T and it's great, but Verizon's reception is great too! HHH

Maybe its your phone? My hubby and I both have sprint phones (I have a palm pixi and he has a HTC Hero) and we've NEVER had a dead spot.

Sprint coverage has always been great for me and you can roam on the Verizon network if your out of range.

Since this area is so flat, the coverage for the whole Tampa Bay area is pretty good for any network. It basically comes down to price, and which company do you not mind dealing with the most when you have to.
There will be times when you're in a building and you have no signal while the person next to you on another network does. That's often because one of you will be on a GSM (AT&T, TMobile) network and the other person will be on a CDMA (Sprint, Verizon) network. Generally, but not always, it seems that CDMA seems to penetrate buildings a little better.

I had Verizon for many years when I lived in NY. I was paying $53/month including surcharges, taxes, etc. for 450 measly minutes. Nothing else. My 2yr contract ended after I moved here, so I switched to MetroPCS.

For $50 ($3 less than V) I have unlimited minutes, messaging, email, web, etc. There is no contract either. If I decide I don't like it I just stop paying monthly and it cancels out automatically.

I find the reception as good as Verizon's was. But I have all these other features and end up paying less. Had I added all the extras and stayed with V it would have cost me about double what I now pay with MetroPCS.

Just something to consider...

Right now iPhones are exclusive to AT&T, but there has been talk about that changing in the future.

I have AT&T and I have never been happy with their call quality. CDMA networks are way better in my opinion. When my contract is up I am jumping to Sprint or Verizon.
