There seems to be a lot of affordable rental properties in Apollo Beack & Ruskin. Anyone have feedback on the pro's & cons of this area?

apollo beach has homes in the multi millions then homes that are shacks....its generally decent but there are these huge smokestacks from some power plant or something that are right there blowing into everyones yard and view....ruskin is very very rural but there are some very nice new home developments

Yes there are deals but it always depends on what you compare it to. For example, we have 2 great marinas ( Ruskin and Apollo Beach) but there are no actual "beach", especially considering the nice ones in St-Pete, Clearwater and Anna Maria Island for example. But these 2 places are bound for 100% transformation. Ruskin, the little downtown is horrible, like a really poor part, nothing exciting. But they are building nice communities around it so the downtown will eventually have to be demolished (yes ) and rebuilt. But how long are you willing to wait? So depending on your needs, it may or may not be a deal for you...
As far as Apollo Beach, at least you have many more ammenities in regards to grocery stores, hair salons & spa, gym, dog food/accessory shop, dentists, urgent care,etc..close to I-75, a mall will be built and hospital,etc...But Ruskin as a better beach than APollo. Apollo Beach's beach is very "disappointing", however, we like to go there in October for reading and relaxing.
I believe it has a bright future, but if somebody is looking for short term, it may not be what one's looking for.
