In 2005, a realtor took me to a new development being built called Townhomes of Bay Port Colony, zip code is 33635, street is called Declaration Drive. Looks to be if you travel 1 and a half miles west on Hillsborough past Sheldon is about where it is.

I would appreciate the Boards feedback on the neighborhood.

I used to live right near there at the Newport Apartments. Low crime area, the only thing its that the area is in a hurricane zone, Level One and Two, so even if a Cat One comes you might get some water. (Tampa area rarely gets them thought ) Oh yea, they just built a Best Buy and Super Target among other things within 3 miles if you keep going west on your right. TGI Fridays...ect...

The only bad thing about the area is the rush hour traffic. Unless you are living right on the water I wouldn't worry too much about water, Tampa has been known to get rain even without a hurricane.

How can you tell which areas are high risk flood zones?

These townhomes are being built by Beazer Homes and it's been slow-going. They're located very near the Westchase/Countryway neighborhoods which are good. Convenient to groceries and gas, but retail shopping is going to be at either the International or Westshore Malls (both are very good!). The downsides are that parking is limited and the building construction is stucco over frame.
