Default Possibly moving to Zephyrhills

Can't find much online about it? Seems like a small quiet community. How far from the furthest beach?...is it good (economically speaking) for someone in their mid twenties not into the clubbing/drinking scene?

Thanks!

Z-hills proper is a very quiet town. Your closest beach would be Clearwater. I don't know how long it would take to make that drive, though. Not too long, but it's not really near the water. Most of your jobs would require you to commute into Tampa. Since you're not into the clubbing/drinking scene, you picked the right place to move. Not much of that stuff in town. I just don't know what you'd do for fun. Zephyrhills isn't exactly known for its youthful population. Again, you'd probably find yourself driving into Tampa for fun.

Is there some reason you are looking to move there? Honestly, it is a real zero place, especially for a young person. It is full of really rude, old, old people. I lived in Dade City for 10 years, beautiful small town, very country, nice and quiet. Z-Hills is to the south of it and I thought it was one of the worst places I have ever been in Florida. People who know me know I have been on this forum for years now, and most of my posts are on the positive side as I love this state, but I do not have much good to say about this place.

Go closer to Tampa or the beaches, you will have absolutely NOTHING to do in this town, and you will be surrounded by senior citizens. Nothing against them as I am almost one myself, but you are only in your 20's.

Hope this helps.

ETA: You will be at least an hour from any beach.

^^^

I can vouch for gypsychic's generally positive attitude. If she knocked an area, I'd probably pay more attention to her claims than some other posters'. I just know that the social hub of Zephyrhills is the Village Inn downtown.

If you're that dead set on a small town, move to Gaskin. Zephyrhills (from the little I did see when I got lost there once) is dirt roads and trailer parks.

Where's Gaskin? The only place I could find with that name in Florida is the unincorporated town of Gaskins up in Calhoun County.

If your husband will be working in Z-hills, you may want to check out Wesley Chapel.
