You may want to check out the Howard Johnson on SOUTH Dale Mabry. Very close to MacDill and likely in a great school district. Check out houses in the 33629 zip - you may be able to find an older home for a reasonable price. Good luck!

Default Forgot to mention...

Mabry Elem has PreK 4 program. Its fee based - not sure what it is (maybe $450/month??) - google mabry elementary for the web site.
I know a few churches have pre k/daycare programs (Palma Ceia Methodist, Palma Ceia Pres, Bayshore Baptist, Hyde Park United Methodist and more).
My neighbors send their 3 yr old to Palma Ceia Academy (daycare) and 6 yr old goes their after school (the daycare picks her up). They really like it there.

I wouldnt stay anywhere on Dale Marbry south of Gandy. Like with any military base, Dale Mabry from the gate to gandy is nothing but pawn shops, pay day advances, dive bars, and crime infested seedy cinderblock 3 story buildings that pass as apartments (at least the ones the city hasn't condemned). The dollar general is the most classy place south of gandy, although the drug infested bowling alley last remodeled in the 70s with homeless people out front is pretty nice. Last week on the way home from work I saw some cops harrassing an old drunk guy and then they just left him there. he might have just been crazy, who knows.

If East Tampa is the armpit of this city, Dale Mabry south of Gandy is the dirty crotch of tampa. Everything a mile to the right or left of that one road is nice.

Tampa is a beautiful city that I love, but there are a few parts I try to avoid. I work on base, so i get to see wonderful S Dale Mabry every day as I sit in bumper to bumper traffic trying to get on base.

Perhaps you might find an Executive Rental. They are often short term or month to month apt. or condo rentals that are fully furnished (very nicely!) and everything is included such as utilities and cable.

Howard Johnson on south Dale Mabry isnt south of Gandy. Its at Corona in Virginia Park - only reason I suggested it is that it is in a good school district and has reasonable rates (they may have kitchenettes - not sure). Original poster suggested she wanted to rent/stay in same district as she buys.
I was trying to differentiate it from the HoJo on North Dale Mabry by the stadium.
