2004, really - it's been that long? They were in the playoffs since 2004 and that was nationally televised.

Inexcusable on the Bucs' part? They've been sad to watch for awhile.

Wouldn't it be funny to have a nationally televised game that was blacked out here?

Thanks to the moderators for not moving this to a sports forum where it would likely get lost/abandoned.

A lot of teams had been sad to watch for some period of time yet were televised, so that's really not an excuse. The Bucs haven't had a regular season nationally televised game is what I should have said.

The Thursday Night Schedule this year includes the Bills, Bears, 49ers, Panthers and Lions all teams that haven't exactly been lighting things up in recent years.

The Monday Night schedule includes Kansas City, Chicago, Cincinnati and Arizona with some potentially sad ratings coming up for the Eagles at Redskins on 11/15, the Broncos at Chargers on 11/22, 49ers at Cardinals on 11/29 and Bears at Vikings on 12/20.

The nationally televised games blacked-out locally are a widespread phenomenon in this economy. The much maligned Jacksonville Jaguars are #13 in the NFL for home attendance this year. The economy has finally caught up with the rest of the NFL and it now gives a better indication of who's really doing poorly. The Bucs still aren't the worst in home attendance, that would go to the Raiders who are averaging just 41,000 per game and 65% capacity (yikes!)

The Flex Scheduling may get the Bucs on later this season if they truly are a good team. Their 3-13 season kept them off of MNF and Thursday night schedules.

Many expected SF to compete for the SB this season. Several of the other teams were supposed to be good as well when the 2010 schedule came out.

Not sure where KC falls - similar to the Bucs, I guess.

I'm not going to whine about the lack of national TV until the Bucs prove that they belong there. Right now they've beat weak teams and are benefiting from a last place schedule.

What? Do you not remember the Sunday night game two years ago against Seattle? It was during game 7 of the ALCS I believe, so we only got 8 million viewers.

We also played Carolina on Monday night and got rushed on for 300 yards.

All in 08.

Exactly the reason that the Bucs shouldn't be on national TV, yet. They haven't proven to be an upper echelon team deserving national attention.

We're better this year though.

How do you know they're better. They played a much tougher schedule last season (Cowboys, Giants, Jets, Saints) - this season they've beaten bad teams.

The NFC is incredibly weak this year. If the Bucs beat the Falcons they can stake claim to being #1. I've only seen highlights of the Bucs where I live, but they look like an exciting, fun team.

Have a little faith in your (I mean OUR) team guys

The hype comes from their 5-2 record, not really their play. They've had a three comeback wins. Freeman, Blount, and Mike Williams look good. Exciting is probably the last way I'd describe the Bucs. Lucky might be the better word.

It would be best if Morris didn't put a big bullseye on the team by claiming they're the best in the NFC - and we're not even halfway through the season.
