Hey Everyone,

We will be visitng Clearwater for the very first time in a few days. All adults no kids, and would like to find a great restaurant with good food and perhaps a nice view. Is there anything by the water?? Nothing too casual, no take out food!!!
Any suggestions are greatly aprreciated!

Thanks
JennyP

All of the places in Clearwater "on the water" are either dive-like tourist traps or favored by seniors, neither of which translate unfortunately into memorable dining experiences. Check out Tapas Garden in Indian Rocks Beach which is a short drive south of Clearwater Beach. It's not on the water, rather across the street. A walk on the beach after dinner should compensate for the lack of waterviews. The food is terrific and there is a wide range to choose from. The decor is quite nice..though hopefully you'll be able to sit outside. Have fun!

second rocafella, if you want to go south, try Salt Rock Grill Indian Shores - lovely.
Right on the beach is the Sand Pearl in Clearwater, rather upscale.

If you really want to be ON the beach, Frenchy's Rockaway Grill is fabulous. But a beach restaurant is casual and funky, by definition.

My wife and I ate at Guppy's near Indian Rocks Beach. The food and service was excellent. It is across the street from the beach. I would suggest that after a fine meal, you and your companion take a stroll over there it is open to the public.

I second Guppy's and was torn between there or Tapas Garden, which won out because of the outside seating option in this case. Both are great!

I third Guppy's, the food was great and it is right across the street from the public beach parking lot, so after dinner you can take a stroll. It's our local favorite when we want the beach experience, without the tourists.

I'll fourth it - if that's good english!
btw salt rock grill have a brilliant early bird $20.10 for two to eat, 3 courses
light salad , followed by choice of main, and then 'taster' dessert, I rate this best value on beaches at this time bu tyou have to be seated by 5.30 and eating by 6.00
(they do offer this for take out too!)
