We are hoping to move to Florida this spring/summer...I have RA and need the warm weather. My husband ( 57) will be retired . I will continue to work and have no concerns with finding a job ( I am an RN with 30 + years of expereince) .
We are planning to make a trip in Dec and want to make the most of our time There are so many areas and it has become confusing.
So if I could reach out for some help
These are the criteria we are looking for :
1. gated golf course community
2. a community with lots of ammentites ,pool, resturants, fitness center, tennis, clubsetc
3. near but not on the water...
4. mediterrean style homes
5. pet friendly
6. NO CDD

We are looking up to 325K ....

Thanks in advance,
Nancy

RA as in Rheumatoid Artritis? holy macro, you will be in non stop pain like me.....try AZ...seriously. This weather because of the high humidity here will drive you insane.

Tampa is FULL of CDDs...no joke.
My community sounds exactly like what you are looking for minus the CDD. Google Cheval, but honestly we are looking to move out of FL because the humidity is really hurting me.

CDD? Complete Discharge Device? Combat Definition Document? Customer Due Diligence?

Community Development District

and it has to do with the continuance of developing different things within the community, not to be confused with HOA, thats extra.

.....and

CAN expire, but usually it doesn't.
You can check this with the community, this is usually set up by the builder and is given a number of years, ours is about to expire in 2 or 3 years, but I don't expect that it will be "let" to expire.

Nancy,

There are quite a few gated, golf course communities around and most allow pets when you're buying a house rather than a condo. Quite a few have amenities but most do not have restaurants in the community and some do not have tennis courts. Would that be something you could do without?

Also, I don't know of any with Mediterranean style houses unless you go into a much higher price range. Most have the style of home that has become popular in the last 10-15 years with high ceilings, open floor plans and split bedrooms. Would you consider those?

If you're okay with no restaurant and possibly no tennis court, no Mediterranean style, I can give you a list of some communities you could start with.

Sincerely,
Ron
