You're pregnant though, so you have the advantage of an internal heater!

Wait a minute here. All summer long all I read from the disenchanted was complaints about the heat.
Now the same people are complaining that its cold. Cold fronts happen. That is what is happening now and next week. Its not that it gets cold in October and stays that way for months with only varying degrees of cold.

Yes, FL is a heck of a lot more than beaches and theme parks as pointed out above and most of us don't go to either that much. I like going to the beach, taking my floating lounge chair out past the waves and drop a concrete block anchor and hang out with my MP3 and a bottle of water.

Theme parks are great, in the off season. If you don't want to spend a bundle on food in a park stop off for a meal before you get there. Bring a water bottle with you that you can refill for free all day long.

Otherwise, there is a heck of a lot more going on in FL than that. If your life is based on theme parks and beaches and the cost of everything from toilet tissue to gasoline, FL is not your problem.

Can't wait until March when the warm weather returns. Too much work in winter covering and uncovering plants, moving the pond inhabitants in doors, replacing landscaping that didn't make it,
keeping warm.

Not over yet. It's only Dec.

I remember January this year being colder than I'd remembered in previous years. Here's a recap from Baynews9 Mike Clay blog: January 2010 Weather Review

And this shows the big differences in areas.
I am right outside Spring Hill proper and we were 21 degrees this morning.

I wonder if elevation has anything to do with it. Like B-ville was 21 or so this a.m. Also, I am on the west side, closer to the water. Maybe that's a factor.

I'm going to hope that the forecasters are wrong about next week. Forecasts that far out are often incorrect... so I have hope. At any rate the next few days are going to be nicer and warmer.... exactly what I was hoping for.

I am on the west side of US19 but we are not built up here. There are 2 more cross streets and not many homes before the preserve starts and then it is just woods until you hit the water.
