I found some condos for sale in this complex. They look great, but I would like to know if anyone has any info if they are sound places to buy/live or if they are plagued with construction issues.

Thanks!

i would love to live there. I can tell you one major downside... Which to me isn't, but would become one. The noise from nightlife until 3 am. You are smack in the center of the hottest nightlife spot in the bay area. I have friends that live at the madison, and one night we went back to one of their places around midnight... First thing i said was "You have to deal with this all the time"? making reference to the loud music and thousands upon thousands of drunk people. One says "you get used to it", the other says "no you dont" and laughs... the first one says "yeah, you are right".

Long story short... I would love to live in that location, I am 27... I would NEVER EVER buy there though.

The six or so I've previewed all had problems of some sorts; mostly plumbing leaks. And parking leaves a lot to be desired.

Thanks for the info.

@Craig - Good point about the partying on the weekend. It sounds like i might want to avoid that street/area in general. I am 32 and single, but i wouldn't like to live in party central.

@TampKaren - I had a feeling something might have been up. I noticed there were a few townhouses in that complex for shortsales.

Good call- those places would be epically conducive to the single lifestyle when you are out and about in SoHo, but the nights you are staying in, you would hate it. Places like that (in hot spots) I always reccomend that people rent for a year if they can find a unit for rent. If it is working out for you, buy. for all I know, they insulation could be so good there, you wont have to hear remixes of jason derullo and rihanna songs all night

Hey Sanis,
Much respect to Craig, he's spot on about the noise in Soho-- I live close enough to hear the bass at night until the bars close. Fortunately for me, I generally crack the window and hum along

However, the Brownstones of SoHo are a few blocks away from any nightlife spots. The Lime is right close, but it's enclosed in the front with a small beer garden in the back that faces away from you. I think that you wouldn't hear noise in your location over your own air conditioning at night. Also, The Lime is across the street and down about a half-block on Howard, so you wouldn't need to dodge drunks at 2:00 a.m. if you didn't want to.

That's actually a really nice location. You're right behind a Sweetbay Supermarket, a Starbucks across the street, a Panera on the corner. I'd love to live there for a few years (and would if I didn't have dogs), especially if I was 31 and single.

I'd pay a visit. While Craig is absolutely right about the Madison at SoHo, being right behind MacDintons, I think you'd be in great shape at the Brownstones. It's worth looking into...

Just make sure whichever unit you buy isn't made of Chinese drywall. I have some friends in the complex who have it. I guess many of the units were built with the stuff and it has caused many residents havoc.

Just a note that i found info stating that there might be Chinese Drywall used on these condos.

Edit: It appears it was only one condo that mentioned it in the listing. Not sure if all are effected.
