I am very disappointed. I moved to Tampa 9 months ago (wow! I should change my title ), and I chose BH vs Verizon because everyone said the customer service is wonderful. I have internet and a landline, I don't watch TV.

I have had so many problems since the beginning! I left for 2 months this summer, and registered for their seasonal discount. They didn't apply it. They cancelled my atomatic payment, I was not aware of it. I had to make many calls, and the billing issue is not solved yet.

I am sorry to say that the quality too was much better in Cancun, there was no billing issues, no cut off. My phone disconnects all the time for 2-3 hours then comes back.... of course when I have to make urgent calls. I don't use cell phones.

Is it a general feeling or am I unlucky?

This from a the opposite of a TV fan....LOL

We have Brighthouse now for 8 years...5 in Orlando (where we NEVER had an issue) and the rest here and believe it or not we are getting ready to switch to Verizon...not the no contract version because with that one they can change the price on you whenever they want...Today was my last straw as I work out of my house online and the internet was a MISERY....so, I am done with Brighthouse.

I got brighthouse for my place (internet only) and so far i don't really have much complaints. The only thing i'd like to change is their stupid router or get access to ALL features, not just the ones THEY think i will need.

For the price, BH beats verizon for the speeds i need and i did not have to deal with the customer services yet.

We've been with Brighthouse for over 5 years and never had any issues. We've lived in Tampa, Largo and Palm Harbor and we've always experienced great customer service with no service issues.

We have the fastest internet, HD DVR and home phone service. Since we mainly use our cell phones, I can't really comment on the home phone issue but we've never had any problems with the home phone.

The only issue I can really remember is we had a coupon for a month free (that you get for forwarding your address at the post office) and they lost it when we moved once BUT after talking to customer service they did give us the month off with little resistance.

Overall we are very happy with Brighthouse and recommend them when people ask us.

I used to use brighthouse. I was very reluctant to switch over to verizon. I have determined there are three types of people in Tampa:

1. Verizon customers
2. Brighthouse customers that haven't seen the light and switched to Verizon
3. Weirdos who still swear by satellite service, for whatever weirdo reason they believe, and need to switch to Verizon.

4. People who do not have access to Fios.

There is no way in hell i'm ditching my 40mbps connection for 1.5 mbps Verizon DSL connection. Hell Verizon only has a plan for 25mbps that is the same price, higher speed doubles in price but gives only 20% more speed over the BH.
For price and high speed >20mbps BH still holds the lead over Verison if you don't need high Upload speed, as BH caps at 5mbps where Verizon offers up to 25mbps

Perhaps someone needs to educate me on this.

FIOS Up To 15 MBPS $54.99

Brighthouse Up To 20 MBPS $42.99

Yes, I see FIOS has UPLOAD up to 5MBPS compared to Brighthouse 2MBPS but since I don;t do much uploading I really don't care. Not to mention FIOS requires a contract where as Brighthouse does not. What am I missing?

Brighthouse Combo Plus:
