you would think this kind of thing would happen daily in the tampa bay area considering all the sketchy transients, severe poverty, unemployment, broken dreams, etc.

When I lived here as a college kid in the 1980s, it seemed every day there was some sort of murder - mostly convenience store stuff. It was eerie. Things are much better here today - might have been related to the drug problem in FLA back then. (see Cocaine Cowboys if you ever get a chance - on NETFLIX instant).

This can happen anywhere anytime with any type of weapon device. Gun or worse yet a bomb. It's not a matter of if but a matter of when.
