This may sound crazy but we dont know anyone in the area, and we arent a religious family. My mother and I were going to fly down a few weeks prior to our move date and try to get to know the area, possibly working with a realtor who does rentals, or even looking at apartment complexes, given that close neighbors may help in meeting new people!

The temps have been running 50* cooler than average. renters insurance will cost you twice as much if not more. Im not familiar with bostons public transportation as I am from western ma, but the bus runs every day and late into the evening - like albany.
did you move from mass to fl for work or just to get away from the brutal weather? did you know anyone moving down there? how was the transition from state to state aside from the living expenses? hope you dont mind me asking, lol,

We attempted this move 3 yrs ago, unfortunatly we were "robbed" for the home we rented was non-existant, our stupid mistake for moving the way we did, this time looking to move more correctly, lol, any syggestion on rental agents in the area?? Or any other info would be much appreciated! thank you all so much!

I hope you have a job lined up as a bartender. The beach really isn't a great place to bartend. It's pretty slow in the off-season, and once the season starts up (around the end of Feb) it gets really crowded. The money is then inconsistent, and many bartending jobs are seasonal. There's also a lot of beach bars who won't hire you unless you're 18-30 attractive female. They don't care about quality of service or experience as much as gender/looks.

For these reasons you might want to go to the American Bartending School in Tampa, it's $395 and only takes a week. That looks great on resumes and, more importantly, they offer job placement. I bartend on the side, mostly for fun, and they have been great about finding me gigs. I'm bartending this week for Gasparilla, which should bring in about $500 a day!

Anyways, good luck with the move, if you have any questions I'll do my best to answer them. I think Clearwater is a good choice, and you really can't go wrong anywhere in Pinellas county. I moved here from NW Ohio and absolutely LOVE it!
