hey guys.

checking out some properties up in the town n country area, about 20 miles from macdill. google says 38 minutes, bing says anywhere from 45 to an hour. i'm guessing bing is more accurate. is that the case?

Bing is probably more correct. There are really only two ways out of T'n'C: the Veterans Expressway/Memorial Highway which get backed up around the 275 and Airport junctions, and Hillsborough Avenue to Dale Mabry, which also can get clogged up.

are those backups "gridlock" or is it just moderate-to-slow moving?

more of the later, but the former can occur if a wreck. Even gridlock moves slowly here.

7 might be better, but 4 could still very well be heavy.

If you leave 10 minutes before 7 you'll be just fine. A little after 7 it starts to pick up. I wouldn't want to leave after 7:30am.

I was there at 6:30am (veterans) and on another occasion at 7AM and managed to be late where I was going in St Pete because of the Waters avenue bottleneck. It is a misery at rush our, don't fool yourself....There are a lot of affordable properties around McDill.......IMO Nothing is that good for me to justify being in that miserable traffic!

The only times Veterans is "drivable" is after 10AM and until 2pm...before & after that you can forget about it. It's a crawl.

....And that is without accidents, if there's an accident by the airport somewhere forget getting anywhere.

Or if it pouring rain...
