So last night, I think it was sometime during Super Bowl, there was a huge BANG - like something exploded but it definitely wasn't fireworks. Did anyone hear about this, on the news maybe? I checked the local news online and didn't find a mention of it. weird.

Yeah, I checked the St. Pete Times website this morning and didn't see anything about Lealman.

I have heard what sounds like explosions before and wonder about it but I am too nosy to let it go, so I investigate. lol. Usually that sound is a blown transformer. Every time I hear that I think "that isn't a blown transformer, that was louder than the last time", but that is what it almost always turns out to be. The one time that wasn't the case was when a girl was driving extremely drunk, lost control of her car, the car hit the curb, flipped and slammed into a light post cracking that and making that slam down on the car. Other than that, it is usually the transponder blowing.

By the way I have had them blow close enough to feel and hear it, but not lose my power since I am on a different circuit.

Someone wants to annex Lealman? What in the world for?

Kenneth City has been trying to do it for years, along with Pinellas Park and St. Pete. KC already buys Lealman's fire service and sells it back to Lealman residents. It's all monkey business.

Hopefully, St. Pete drops out of the bidding-we've got enough problems with out adding Lealman.

Things seem to explode and gunshots fire off around here all the time with nary a word from the "news". Your best bet is to check out the situation for yourself or monitor police communications on a regular basis.
