Moving to St. Petes w/in a a week - Need short term apartment advice (Indian Shores: month to)

Hello,

I am taking an new job in St. Pete - around 18th St. North within the next two weeks or so. I am currently from N. Alabama. I will move without my family for the first 6 months then will move to a more appropriate area when I move them down once I see the job is a fit. I want to find an efficiency or small 1 bedroom apartment preferably on the beach or at least close walking distance for this short term arrangement. I would be interested in Indian Shores, Indian Beach or alike. I am not very familiar with St. Pete therefore it doesn't have to be that exact area but a beach is a must also within reasonable driving time to my job. I want to pay under $1000 or so (cheaper the better) per month and the area must be somewhat safe. I would very thankful for any advice, guidance or area suggestions. Thank you in advance.

look up vrbo.com and ask for a rate - snowbirds are starting to leave so you may have a chance of picking up someone for a month to month, Indianshores and Indian Rocks are both very nice, you will like it, and both have quite a few smaller type properties.
