Hi!

My husband and I were planning on moving to Sarasota in June and we made a last minute decision on the Tampa area instead. We need an idea of what areas to look at.

We have kids at home (grades 11, 8, and 4) so schools are a our #1 concern.

We're looking to rent a 4/5 bedroom home with a pool no less that 2500 sqft. in a nice neighborhood. somewhere between $1200-$2000.

We both work from home so commuting isn't a concern.

We'd like to be in an area where ther are lots of activities for the kids.

We're also open to surrounding areas. I appreciate any input.

Thanks.

try Craigs List for rentals. Doubt if you will get a 4/5 bedroom in a good area with schools you like for much under $2000. Look at Tarpon/East Lake/Palm Harbor/Seminole/Safety Harbor all good schools in all 3 ages. All have nice subdivisions, we are a sunshine state, so there are tons of outdoor things for children, all sports, all ages. For the young ones, beach is free and fun, nearest of these to beaches is Seminole, much of it is within minutes.

There are good schools in many areas of Tampa. Check out Westchase, Citrus Park, Carrollwood, New Tampa, Wesley Chapel. There is also S. Tampa but finding a 4 or 5 bedroom will be a challenge. Be careful of using Craigslist as there have been instances of ppl renting out houses they do not own. One of our members 'Bentlebee' might be able to give you other suggestions as he is a landlord.

If you find anything be sure to ask here for more info.

You could also look into Fishhawk Ranch in Lithia and Villa Rosa in Lutz. I'm not sure about the current rental inventory, but I've seen some in the recent past. Both are nice communities and the local public schools have very good reputations and ratings.
