I moved to Lutz (north of Tampa) a few months ago. I'm ready to walk on the beach and take some pics but do not know which area. Any suggestions?

Tampa does not have gulf beaches. I would say St pete or more to the south.

Pass-a-Grille, the southernmost part of St. Pete Beach.

That's an easy drive from Lutz. Good idea! Miserable Midwest says watch out for rattlesnakes. Wonder if they make it to the beach .... will check it out!

Yikes! Are there roadrunners in Florida? I'm in front of the TV right now and Animal Planet is on. I just watched how a roadrunner deals with a rattlesnake before eating it. Roadrunner grabs the snake with beak than tosses its head slamming and bashing the snake until it's dead. Clever bird! No wonder Wiley Coyote never can catch it.
