OK.. I have cleaned up this thread.. In the future please report posts rather than get into 'shouting' matches. You can have a different opinion but do not blast others who disagree.

Just as well face facts folks. It's bad from mid May till mid Oct in MY BOOK. The real insane dewpoints and lows in the 80's are still a few weeks away. Once the gulf temp gets above 85 and we are in what i call a reverse west wind flow then we will have something to crow about. Some people like the heat and others don't.

If i had a choice, face 5 months of hell here or 5 months of winter up north, then i will pick our summers anyday.

Ain't that the truth. I don't how people lived in Florida in the past without air conditioning. I certainly wouldn't have been able to.

Hot humid summers are nothing new to me since I moved here from Dallas where there are always days of 100+ during the summer. I just wanted to get back to Florida (after 30 years in Dallas) and be closer to the salt air. Now all I have to do is win lotto so I can buy a nice place on the beach! I can always dream!

In the U.S.A, humid climates are located in many places. The eastern half of Texas, Louisana, Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, George, Kentucky, Virginia, parts of West Virginia. The humid subtropical climate can also be found in the Midwest, primarily in the southern portions of Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. It can also be found in Maryland, Delaware, D.C., Southern Pennsylvania and Southern New York.

So, for the folks that don't like heat/humidity, there are about 30 other states to choose from. However, most of those 30 other states have horribly cold winters with lots of snow. I guess we all have to make our choices on where we live and decide whether or not it suits us.

I always question as to why folks chose Florida over any other state to relocate to. It boggles my mind that they didn't know the weather way before they decided to relocate here or if they are natives, to stay.

Florida didn't really prosper until the advent of AC, many states didn't. Many manufacturing plants such as aircraft and the like wouldn't exist without it.

I knew it would get hot, I think I just underestimated how long it lasted! I remember the first Halloween down here both my kids nearly had heatstroke from trick-or-treating in their costumes!! After that we made better choices of costumes!!LOL!

It varies, I thought June and July were moderate when I've been there, September was a doozy last time I was there. Felt like 95/95 every day all day.

But I wait ten months for two months of "summer", so I liked it

Not everyone has a choice where they go. You go where the military sends you.

I'll be hibernating indoors the next 5 months, I despise this heat.

Edit to add: Before you say "but you signed up for it", yes we did, but doesnt mean i have to like it.
