Like many others who were struck hard and fell in deep financial woes because of the economy. I got myself in ChexSystems. Now that I am getting back on my feet I am in need of a Checking Acct. I know that there are banks out there that do not look at CheckSystems and others that do but are willing to give a second chance. Anyone know of any in the area. I live in Palm Harbor.

USAA...they aren't local, but if you need to make a deposit you can do so at a UPS store.

USAA is Government/Federal workers only though.

Try BoA online - they will take anyone.

That would be incorrect...USAA for banking purposes is open to anybody, insurance & such is restricted...

And BoA uses chexsystems. USAA doesn't, that's how & why I have an acct with them.

BoA *local* branches are chexsystems, but BoA online is not unless they changed something in the last 1 year. I had a black mark on my chexsystems file and BoA online took me. You have to sign up for your account online, not in a local branch to get around that.

Ok...I actually owe a bank from an acct that was overdraft a few years back, I can't open another acct anywhere until that's taken care of. I've been in chexsystems b4 for the same reason but once I paid the acct I was cleared, even though I was still in chexsystems, it showed it was paid.

Most of the time paying it will open you back up to better banks.

Have you tried Ally Bank?

Woodforest at Wal Marts?

Just to get you started.

True, haven't come across better than USAA though. Free, no atm fees, excellent customer service & my debit card earns points.

There is not such thing as BOA online. It is the same bank that is FDIC insured and uses ChexSystems. You may be able to open online but when an audit is done, Risk will shut you down and freeze your funds. Pay your debt and then open an account the correct way.
