I am hoping I can get some quick feedback on my questions. My family is being relocated from Ohio and are pretty set on living in Lansbrook. We have a 10 and 3 old year. My question is: Where are residents sending their middle school age kids to? Tarpon Springs Middle? I read and heard this school is not good. Private? If so, what school? Also, according to the Pinnallas county website, all of Lansbrook is zoded for Tarpon Springs Middle and not for Carwise anymore. We are very concerned with what schoool are 10 year old should attend. Also, are there very many kids in the community around those ages? Any specific subdivisions and/or streets in Lansbrook with alot of kids on it? Insightful feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I didn't realize you had this thread and answered the other one also.

We are in the same situation but coming from MA and are considering Lansbrook also. We are visiting June 13-15 and move down last week of June. Have you visited Lansbrook?

I was understanding Tarpon springs Middle was A rated?

Steve

Take a look at this site but I think you may have it already?

Hi Steve,

Yes, we did visit Lansbrook last weekend and it is where we want to settle. I spoke with a resident this evening about the schools. He has a middle schooler in Tarpon Springs Middle and had positive feedback on the school. He said it has turned around significantly in the last 12 months since they rezoned the schools and hired the former prinicipal from Safety Harbor. So far his son has had a positive experience at the school. He has stated there are many kids in the neighborhood ranging from young to high school.

ah that's good news, my daughter will be in the elemetary system and my son is only 2. It sounds like you liked Lansbrook? Can you share your thoughts on it?

Thanks
Steve

Hi there,

Well, the community/subdivision itself is very well taken care of. There are parks, people outside enjoying a walk on the parkway, and kids riding back and forth from the park. We have a good friend who lives in Ridgemoor and suggested Lansbrook. It is very resort style of living. Also, we liked Westchase very much. Good schools, shopping, restaurants, active communities, etc. Check out that area too or go to this website: westcasewow.com. It is more central and closer to downtown if you are a commute.

My wife and I were down there last year and really liked the Lansbrook area. My understanding was that they were in the east lake school district which is why we liked the area. It's a little unsettling hearing that they changed it to Tarpon Springs. What High School and Elementary covers the lansbrook area. We will be down at the end of June and will be checking out a few areas.

Actually they are all in Pinellas County School District. Being associated with Tarpon Spring or Eastlake does not impact the school's funding, curriculum or anything else.

In NY a district is not county wide, they're per town. So if I refer to distrcit i mean elementary, middle and high school. I guess my concerns are the school ratings.

Lansbrook is still East Lake High School and Cypress Woods elementary (if you can get your child in there). I hear it gets to compacity every year.
