My wife and I are pretty close to relocating down to the area. We were they're last week looking at homes in the East Lake area. While we liked it alot, the home prices were high as well as the taxes (not enough to prevent us from buying there though). The realtor also mentioned Trinity, where you get more home for your money and the taxes are lower. I never did get a chance to look area last week. Any thoughts on this area. Should we be concerned that it's in Pasco county? I'll be working in Clearwater and my wife in Tampa. Schools are important which is why Trinty was recomended.

I too looked in East Lake, loved the area but couldn;t find the right house for us. Trinity is nothing like East Lake. It is Rural and nothing like East Lake.

But it's not far from everything.

Just make sure you drive around spend some time in the area. I also recommend doing the drive between where you will be working during the hours you would be commuting before purchasing. Good Luck!

I actually did the commute after my interview. It wasn't that bad without traffic. I'm not sure what my wife's commute would be. She's interviewing in Tampa on westshore.

Trinity is a nice area, you'll be fine. I came close to buying something in LongLeaf about 6-7 years ago...it's close to Trinity. My profile is suburban white family guy and I wouldn't buy anything anywhere that didn't have good schools, safe family areas, etc. Trinity has all of that.

Thanks, that helps a lot. I'll have to do some recon when I get down there next time. BTW, where did you eventually settle?

Trinity is fine. I have a friend who lived there and she loved it. I believe the yards are pretty small. The drive into Tpa on the Veterans could be trying depending on the time of day. You are close to Land O lakes.

Getting to Clearwater depending on where in Clearwater is going to be a tough drive too. Did you look at Country Way, Oldsmar or Safety Harbor areas?

Trinity is a nice area, not sure what home prices are in that area. Don't even think of living in Port Richey or any of the areas along US19 from Holiday to Hudson. Home prices are around 20 to 40k, but one look at the areas along US19 will scare most people away.
