Hey Everyone,

I am looking to relocate from the Windy City to Tampa next May. I am doing my research before I make this big move. I am a single parent raising an 8 year old son. I currently pay 850 for a 2 bedroom near the lake in Chicago...looking to pay around the same down there... How is the school system down there? I wouldn't mine him going to a public school as long as it were considered good. I am a professional makeup artist...Would I find much work down there? If necessary I'm also prepared to work another full time job as well which I am hoping to find before I even move totally down there. I do not have family down there, however I have friends throughout Florida. What are some good neighborhoods to consider moving in (safety first) that fit what I am looking for? I would like to live in a mixed vicinity; I'm an African American (middle class) in my late 20's...I love doing activities with my son as well as enjoying the night life. Please help me. Thanks!!!

South Tampa is a good area to live for younger people, however it can be expensive. As BucFan mentioned look for a job first, at least test out your field before making decision to move. I don't really see a booming industry here for makeup artists as we don't have big movie/art industry (not to say that we don't have any) and your type of work might not be very in demand here. But then again i'm an engineer, so it's not my business to talk about makeup
Good luck with the move
