I would imagine anywhere you have much agriculture where people are needed to spend all day in the fields picking whatever you will have a large migrant labor force in the area (Plant City included),whether they are illegal or not is not for me to say but if unemployed Americans would take up those jobs in the fields in large enough numbers maybe the question of illegal farm workers wouldnt be so prevalent in todays news stories..

Wow! You obviously don't keep with news. Otherwise you wouldn't even refer to Lakeland as Jesusland. However, are you really sure you meant to say that Lakeland has as much crime as Plant City? With a population 3x that of Plant City, that statement doesn't bode well for Plant City.

I think when referring to any city or town we are talking the general area and not the actual downtown.Plant City has some nice areas within 10 miles of city center, not sure what the names of these places are but on motorcycle or sportscar runs there are some nice areas north of town....

Pros- the strawberry festival
Cons- everything else

DMV- You will need FL insurance, get a FL lic. then they will allow you the privilege of forking over a a ridiculous amount compared to most other states to register your car there.

Rental homes are cheap. Lots of vacancies, so many to choose from. Be careful, 20% aren't paying their mortgage, including landlords. Its not uncommon to fork over money to rent, move in and pay on time only to be evicted when the bank forecloses. The landlord just pocked the rent and didn't pay the bank so now you are looking to move quickly, a lot sooner than you expected. I have links to the DMV and other helpful State of Florida sites if you don't have them here (http://move-retire-relocate-to-florida.blogspot.com/ - broken link)They are on the right side of the first page about half way down.

I dont understand certain people's obsession with Lakeland. It's not that nice of a town and not convenient to any real place of work except publix.

I don't think that recommending it over Plantucky makes it an obsession.

Sorry for so many questions!

Thanks in advance!
Any reason for Plant City?
How about St Augustine?..

It's all fairly useful and legitimate feedback. What makes it any different from the BS you spread about Tampa and St. Pete? At least theirs is helpful.
