Thats a long heavy commute that i have to do once or twice a year,to do it every day?would drive me to despair and get me thinking about moving a lot closer to where i need to be everyday...
Budget about an hour each way assuming no traffic accidents.

According to a new Forbes analysis, Atlanta has the third-worst commute among the nation’s 60 largest metro areas. Only Detroit and Tampa-St. Petersburg ranked lower. Residents of those three cities “endure the most grueling slog to work,” Forbes’ Francesca Levy wrote.

Wow! Thanks for the great responses! Would it be less of a bear to live in St. Pete and drive I-275 to USF?

LOL - you are really hell-bent on having a heckuva commute! That really isn't going to be much better - I-275 is AWFUL during rush hours! why not pick a nice neighborhood in Tampa? Plus, you have to remember that as you approach USF the traffic gets really bad around there. Back in the 1970s USF was just a small college with a handful of buildings and NOTHING AT ALL built on Fletcher and Fowler Ave, yet it still took me 30 minutes just to drive 10 miles from my house in West Tampa! Now today it is GRIDLOCK on Fowler with every inch paved over and 8 lanes of traffic. The traffic on I-275 is almost at a standstill in rush hour. I would never, ever want to make that commute on a regular basis.

Even worse. Best to buy a home around USF.
