I highly suggest you do not move to where you do not know anybody. Quite likely, your spouse will be your only true friend for at least a year.
this is so incredibly true that it bears repeating again and again until prospective transplants really understand.

same here, although my wife working nights and me working evenings doesn't help. plus our neighborhood is very anti-social and not conducive to social behavior anyway. can't wait to move to a different area of tampa when our lease is up.

Your deodorant will fail by noon time as well as everyone else's and a stale odor will whaft through Publix or Bealls or wherever you find yourself. It will rain most every afternoon, blinding rain but only for short spurts. Some people say it cools things off but it only makes things stickier. Wow. I guess I never experienced all of these things and I have been here for almost 70 years. I garden, sometimes until almost noon, run errands and also work in an office some days. It is hot and getting in and out of the car is the worst but, it is bearable. I haven't smelled anyone recently.....LOL.

As long as they dont reach for something on the top shelf your fine! lol

Also, this is after about 15 minutes of rain in S. Tampa. It may not always last that long but it sure comes down good!

Or the cardboard packaging of some groceries disintegrates upon impact from the constant barrage of water unleashed from the heavens during said downpour!

Usually. The two exceptions to this are:

1) When you've just finished grocery shopping and have a cart full of melting ice cream.

2) When you've just finished your shift at work and have to walk the equivalent of 2 city blocks to the other end of the parking lot to get into your car. And the parking lot floods at even the most minor things such as spilling a Dixie cup full of Kool Aid...because it was designed by "engineers" who couldn't make a level plumb line if their lives depended on it.

You're exactly right there. It's like a whole different world. That was our experience after living there for ten years.
