A great area with lower rental rates would be ideal. I will be volunteering and having fun/ sightseeing.
Thanks in advance

Are you going to be in Tampa, or are you asking where in you should go in the United States for your vacation? I'd personally want to be vacationing anywhere other than here..

If you are 23 years old, and can afford to take a four-month vacation, you are part of the 1%. At least this is according to what the television news media is feeding me every day.

Where will you be volunteering? That would make a difference as to where we might suggest. For younger folks, I may suggest St. Pete, but I would not suggest that if you are volunteering in Wesley Chapel for example. What kind of activity are you looking for? Beach? Kayaking? Channelside, bar hoping, etc. Give us a little more information.

If you are planning to come in snowbird season, it will be hard to find inexpensive lodgings.
Unless the organisation you work for can offer you some help there, maybe with a family, that wayyou will not be so alone also.
