I'm looking for info on possibly relocating to St. Petersburg,fl. I would really like input from members of the communities surrounding St. Petersburg,Fl. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. I would also like to know if anyone here work's at any of the college's or university's in the Tampa/St. Petersburg,FL area. I would also like any info on taxe's as I hear there is no state tax?.

P.S. Where can I get a copy of your local newspaper as well as a city map??, I could send some funds to help cover costs.

St.Petersburg is a nice city, The downtown area is up and coming with lots of things to do every weekend. Plenty of jobs I would imagine at the university's. We have Eckerd College, St.pete College, USF , Stetson all in St.pete alone. As far as a newspaper , You can check out Tampa Tribune or St.Pete times, Both have online web sites you can browse through.

It is true we don't have state tax, but we have 6% sales tax and 1% penny for Pinellas tax. The main concern around here is property tax and house insurance, But if you can line up a nice job , you should be able to find something. There are plenty of condos and homes for sale. Condos you will have less property tax and less insurance costs. So just do some research and see what suits you best.
