There are plenty of decent condos and small houses between 7th Ave and Adamo drive and between 13th and 23rd streets. That area is relatively safe and not too expensive.

I live in Channelside, and it's great. Highly recommended. I get all the goodness of Downtown, Ybor, and South Tampa while being a bit removed from it.

Love it.

I live out that way and it's not too far for me. It's worth it IMHO...

There are condo's in or around Channelside that are nice and quiet. An upper floor it is always a good idea, not for flooding, but for the views. You can have really awesome views of the bay from being up in one of those condo's.

Two bedroom, means two bedrooms with closets. One may be considered the master, and have the bathroom inside, the other just has a closet.

If you "had" a garage, and have stuff you need to store, then you may be SOL, and may need to rent storage. Or get a 3 bedroom condo. There maybe room to rent around South Tampa but storage will be your biggest issue. In FL because there are no basements, ppl store their stuff either in the garage, or a storage facility.

If you rent in a condo, your car would most likely be parked in the condo's garage, so no vandalizing there.

IF You don't live directly on the water, you don't have to worry about flooding necessarily, unless you're in a low lying area that floods with every rain.

You could stay at an extended stay for a while and check out all these areas before renting site unseen.

I had a friend who lived in the Box Factory Loft Apartments, worked in Westshore area, and loved it. She was a very social person and apparently so was that condo complex. Everybody knew one another and did things together.
