So, how bad is it? We've heard 20-30mins depending on traffic/time of day. Is that wrong?

That's pretty close but it depends where in Brandon. I like the Bloomingdale area most especially for young families. The Crosstown definitely alleviates the commute time but the closer you are to the Causeway area, the more "worn" it seems. It would be worth the extra 5-10 minutes to live in a better neighborhood.

Give me an intersection. You cant make an estimate without one.

You can probably expect about 30 minutes for sure. We live on the edge of brandon (closer to riverview) and my husband drives to MacDill AFB, and it takes him 45 mins (via tolls). I'd imagine 20-30 mins is a good estimate of time though.

We actually found a house in Riverview today. People there were saying the commute to downtown would be around 15-25 mins. Does that sound right?

To downtown? The top end of that estimate and it depends where in Riverview. The closer you are to I-75, the less street time you have to deal with. I know that there was an expansion project on 301 that may alleviate some of the traffic problems.

I am looking to purchase a home either in the central or southern part of Florida within the next month. Can anyone advise me on an area/s with great/good public or private high school. My maximum price is $200,000 and I would like 5br. I hope my price range is realistic.
