What are some of the great local desserts for Christmas? Where can they be purchased?

Thanks!

OH BOY this is like asking me what my fave thing to do is! All I do is scout around Tampa Bay for dessert!

Fave TB desserts:

1. Wrights Deli Peppermint Chocolate Cake (only available in Nov-Dec)

2. Paciugo gelato (St. Pete)

3. Tempura Oreos with ice cream Joko's Tampa

4. Cuban Flan de Queso, West Tampa Sandwich Shop (best flan in Tampa Bay)

5. JJ Gandys key lime pie

NOTE: If you are looking for a local dessert that is "typical of Tampa" but does not meet stringent foodie standards, then head on over to Alessi Bakery, Segunda Central Bakery, Datz Deli and others for some sweets.

You might also want to take a drive to Tarpon Springs for some wonderful Greek pastry.

I would say Tampa local desserts are either Cuban or Italian. Alessi makes great desserts of both.

BTW.. Bern's steak house has a dessert room. Many ppl go there for desserts only.

The whiskey bread pudding at 'The Pub' in International plaza is very good on a cold day.
