Default New job in Riverview

Hi,

I am going to be starting a new job in Riverview coming from the north. I have been doing some research on these message boards about where to live, bad commutes, etc...

I know I would like to live near a beach town, but I dont think I will get that in Riverview. I was just in Clearwater and I like that area but the commute would be killer from what I read. I dont want to move to Florida and not have quick access to a nice beach (30 mins away).

Can anyone fill me in on the commute if they are doing it, or if they know someone who is doing it. What times I should leave in the morning (5 am, 9 am, etc...) from Clearwater to Riverview or is there a different place you can recommend to live.

Look at Apollo Beach. Its close to Riverview and is about 30 minutes from the nearest Gulf beach and it has its own beach, although folks dont swim there due to the power plant being there. Still has the "beachy" feel to it though. Good Luck on your move! I live in Riverview and am praying that I get a job in Riverview I currently commute to St. Pete so trust me, I understand your point of not wanting a long commute.

So how long is the commute? What time do you leave at in the morning?

Best option for you to satisfy your needs:

Live in Ruskin.

With that, you are 15-20 mins from Riverview (depending on where you work) and 30-45 from Bradenton/Sarasota, which has beaches. Apollo Beach doesn't really have a "beach"...it is more of a beach wall with steps leading into the water. In Ruskin, you also wouldn't be too terribly far from Pass-A-Grille or the other really southern Pinellas beaches.
