I just bought a TV (didn't have any so no service). My internet is with Bright House, but for the TV they are very expensive, and, it seems, 20 years behind.

So I decided to go with a satellite service. For what I know, there are 2 providers: Direct TV and Dish Network. I checked their sites, but, of course, they don't say a lot. So I called them. At Direct TV, the guy was a chatter box, not answering my questions (once again ), and wanted to know everything about me. After maybe 10 minutes, not getting anywhere, I told him he was a bad sales person and he didn't seem to want my business. He felt very insulted and hung up on me.

Then I called Dish, the guy was much nicer, LISTENED to my needs, and answered.

I would like to know if some of you have an advice (maybe with DTV I reached the wrong person ). Have you any experience and opinions?

Thanks again

Several years ago I had Dish, then Direct TV. I had a HORRIBLE experience with Dish! They wanted to charge me 100s of $$$ to disconnect their service and for their equipment! I had no such problem with Direct TV, and their whole service was a lot better. This is when we lived in Pasco County.

I have to be honest, though. I much prefer Cable TV. The Dish will cost you plenty, and it goes out at the drop of a hat when it rains, I hated it.

Hope this helps!

How do you figure 20 years behind? They have all of the same regular channels, well over 100 hd channels (which are free), dvr along with the whole home dvr. On demand (which you cant get instantly with satellite, you have to wait to download the program) AND you can bundle it with your internet and get a much better deal than with satellite.

I used to work for dish and have a lot of experience with all of the major tv providers. The satellite product is nice but not here in florida, the reception when the storms come through is gone. Up north its great but honestly, in my opinion it wouldnt even be an option here. Between that and the price (comparing packages, your going to pay a lot more with satellite)
