Could someone recommend a place for our new American Bulldog puppy to attend obedience classes? She will be 10 weeks old tomorrow and I'd like to start early with her as she is smart...but a tad stubborn!

I know PetSmart and PetCo offer them...but the trainers seem quite young (college aged) and that makes me a bit nervous regarding their true experience.

I'm located in South Tampa but willing to go into Pinellas or a little north if I have to.

Thanks!

the people at petco on westshore have a puppy playtime, i think on mondays. it gives you a chance to meet other puppys and talk with the trainer. best part is that's it is all free.

muchies pet supply has listed that they are now offering pet training. they are located in oldsmar. there could be a chance that their trainer travels.

i have personally worked with Dave with American 813 300 6098. loved him! we do foster of mastiffs and I have no problems giving him a call to help with the new rescue when they come in. On time, gives you homework that is common sense and you see results. Give him a call..

Great advice..check them out at puppy playtime. I have seen good and some needs improvement trainers at retail stores.

I have heard good things about these places. they are privately owned and have a good rep

When I first read this post, I could not remember the name of the place that was recommended to me. Then today, Charley Belcher from Good Day Tampa Bay, was there. It's Lucky Dog Pet Resort and they have a website here --> Lucky Dog Pet Resort | Downtown & South Tampa Dog Daycare Boarding |. The loan officer at my last closing said he takes his dogs there for daycare and it's been worth it. The dogs get training, lots of exercise and socializing throughout the day. And he can watch it all on the puppy cam from his desk in Carrollwood.
